Hello and welcome to Eileen’s. Our home is in Ampthill, located in the heart of Bedfordshire, where we invite our guests to celebrate local produce in a warm, friendly, non-pretentious atmosphere. Our goal at Eileen’s is to allow our guests to enjoy creative dishes, thoughtfully crafted by head chef Steve Barringer.

Head chef Steve Barringer is Bedfordshire born and bred. Having worked his way through the kitchen hierarchy at Flitwick Manor, a stone’s throw from his childhood home in Westoning, he shot to prominence in 2011 by finishing runner-up on the BBC’s Masterchef: The Professionals.
After spells in kitchens in Devon, he returned to Bedfordshire in 2015, successfully earning The Anchor – Tilsworth a place in the coveted Michelin guide in 2017.
Despite the fine accomplishment of elevating a village pub to Michelin standards, what Steve really yearned for was a place to call home. Therefore, in October 2018 Steve and his wife Amy were delighted to open Eileen’s in Ampthill – named after his grandmother who first inspired a teenage Steve to get into the kitchen.

We were a large party all of which could not fault the food, service, atmosphere, quality and price. We chose the 5 dish taster menu. Fine dining at its best, Michelin stars will follow so get in now before everybody knows that Eileen’s is up and running because before long it will have a lengthy waiting list I would predict ! Good luck to Steve and Amy with the new venture, great to have the restaurant so close to home. We will be back.

We had heard how awesome the chef was and can testify was amazing. Each of the 7 courses were incredible. The service was excellent too. Will definitely be booking again.

A huge thank you. What an amazing evening and one to remember. You gave us a Michelin star menu and a first class dining experience. The tasting menu was carefully chosen and thought out, it was hard to chose one favourite. We appreciated the high standard of ingredients used, creating a fusion of tastes, textures and aromas. It was lovely to chat with you both and find out more about your journey. Looking forward to eating dinner in your company in the not too distant future. In the meantime good luck with the launch.

We loved Steve's food at his last place but having been to Eileen's today for the opening night, I can say that he has taken it up another notch!! Warning - do not eat anything else on the day you go to Eileen's to ensure that you have enough room to manage the full 7 courses, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Steve, Amy and the team!
